Following a Life Forever Changed

History is often remembered through the lives of extraordinary people, but sometimes the most remarkable stories begin with ordinary individuals. Saint Peter: The Woman He Loved, The Master He Followed by Marilyn Huntman Giese invites readers to step into the life of Simon Peter long before he became one of Christianity’s most recognized figures. Rather than simply retelling familiar biblical events, the novel paints a vivid picture of the personal struggles, relationships, and decisions that shaped the man who answered Jesus’ call.

Set against the backdrop of Roman rule, political unrest, and the birth of Christianity, the story blends historical detail with heartfelt storytelling. As Peter’s journey unfolds, readers are drawn into a world where love, sacrifice, faith, and courage collide. Along the way, intriguing historical questions and forgotten figures add another layer of mystery, making every chapter feel like another piece of a much larger story waiting to be uncovered.

A Lifetime Inspired by History

Marilyn Huntman Giese was born in Washington, D.C. in 1932 and grew up with a love for history, storytelling, and adventure. After attending Iowa State College, she married Stanley C. Giese and together they raised five children. Her lifelong fascination with biblical history eventually led her to travel extensively throughout Israel, Turkey, and the Near East, where archaeological discoveries helped inspire her historical novels.

Beyond writing, Marilyn has served her community in many ways, including church mission work, leadership positions with the Naperville Writers Group and the Illinois State Poetry Society, and publishing both fiction and poetry. Her experiences, research, and passion for history continue to shape stories that bring ancient events to life for today’s readers.
