Where Literature Lives, and Voices Rise

When the Guadalajara International Book Fair first opened its doors in 1987, it wasn’t trying to become a global giant overnight. It simply wanted to create a welcoming home where Latin American literature could thrive, connect, and be celebrated. Founded by the University of Guadalajara, FIL grew steadily through community, creativity, and a deep respect for storytelling. Over the years, it transformed from a regional event into the largest Spanish-language book fair in the world, admired for its purpose-driven growth and cultural impact.

Today, FIL feels like a vibrant world of its own. Across its massive halls, visitors move through book launches, workshops, illustration festivals, film screenings, academic panels, cultural performances, and international publishing meetings. With more than 900,000 visitors and thousands of exhibitors from over sixty countries, the fair brings together readers, authors, educators, and industry leaders in one dynamic and creative space.

This year’s Guest of Honor is Barcelona, a city shaped by centuries of artistic innovation, multilingual literature, and fearless storytelling. The theme celebrates Barcelona’s character through Catalan books, performances, culinary showcases, and conversations with creators who continue to influence global culture. FIL invites visitors to step into the rhythm and imagination of a city that has always inspired the world.

Amid all this creativity, Kravitz & Sons proudly joins FIL 2025 with books that spark curiosity and nurture young minds. One of our featured titles is Alphabet Animals by Lynnie Adrian—a warm, imaginative, and beautifully written children’s book that introduces little learners to the alphabet through lively animal characters and vivid habitats.

A Heart for Children and the Joy of Reading

Lynnie Adrian grew up in Greenburgh, New York, where her early dream was to become a teacher. Though life took her through a different path—earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in fashion merchandising—her love for teaching never completely faded. That instinct showed itself clearly when she taught her own daughter to read at just two years old.

For Lynnie, reading is more than learning—it’s bonding, discovery, and joy. Every Saturday, she brought her daughter to the library and let her choose her own books, teaching her that reading should never feel like a chore. “Reading together is the key,” she says. “Make it fun and they will go far.”

That belief shines through in her writing. Lynnie’s voice is warm, encouraging, and filled with the kind of gentle creativity that makes young readers excited to turn the page. She now lives in Peekskill, New York, with her husband and daughter, still passionate about stories that help children grow.

A Colorful Journey Through Letters and Creatures

Alphabet Animals brings the alphabet to life through fun, rhythmic stories about creatures from all kinds of habitats—jungle, ocean, forest, desert, and more. Each letter introduces a new animal friend, from Alex the Alligator to Zara the Zebra, giving children a chance to explore the alphabet while discovering unique traits, adventures, and natural environments.

Whether children are meeting Felix the Fox, Octavia the Octopus, Lily the Llama, or Xavier the X-Ray Tetra, each page gives them something new to look at, learn, and love. The stories highlight curiosity, kindness, bravery, and joy—important values woven into simple, fun narratives.

What makes Alphabet Animals especially meaningful is its purpose. It isn’t just teaching ABCs—it’s helping children fall in love with reading early, just as Lynnie did with her own daughter. It encourages families to read together, explore together, and use stories as a bridge to learning.

It’s friendly, imaginative, and full of heart—exactly the kind of book that shapes a child’s first reading memories.

A Final Note for Curious Young Readers

Alphabet Animals is a sweet reminder that learning doesn’t have to be complicated—it just needs to be fun. With charming characters, easy storytelling, and a warm educational spirit, this book invites children to explore letters, animals, and the joy of reading one colorful page at a time.
