Putting Christian Faith Into Practice in a Complicated World
Living as a Christian is not always easy, especially when the world around us offers temptations and challenges that can test our faith. In Encyclopedia of Christian Action by John Benedict, readers are invited to look beyond simply believing in God and consider how that faith should influence their everyday decisions. From dealing with family and work to facing difficult situations involving crime, politics, and forgiveness, this book explores what it means to follow Christian values while living in a world that is far from perfect.
With 32 chapters covering different situations people encounter in life, the book offers a practical look at how biblical teachings can guide our actions. It encourages readers to think carefully about their choices, understand the importance of faith, and seek God’s wisdom when facing complicated circumstances. Some ideas may challenge familiar beliefs, while others may provide reassurance and a fresh perspective. Either way, this is an invitation to examine how faith can become part of everyday living, not just something practiced inside a church.
A Lifetime of Faith and Service
John Benedict spent much of his career in engineering sales and continued working full-time until he was 82. Throughout his life, he founded two companies, lived in five major cities, and attended 16 different churches because of business transfers. He also remained active in church work, sports, and politics, gaining experiences that helped shape his understanding of Christian life and service.
At 86, John began writing books, and Encyclopedia of Christian Action is his fourth book. He and his wife live in Florida, where they enjoy Christian fellowship, dancing, landscaping, and the blessings of the Lord. His experiences in business, church communities, and family life bring a personal perspective to his discussion of how Christians can put their beliefs into action.
