Following the Tracks of a Nation Built by Many

Tracks by Daniel McLinden follows the story of America through the people who walked, traveled, and dreamed their way into it. It’s a mix of cultures—Mexican, Scottish, Irish, Danish, German, Italian—and each thread pulls readers into a new story about hope and survival. The book feels like sitting with a grandparent who finally decides to share the stories nobody wrote down.

Daniel pulls you into different landscapes, different struggles, and different generations, all tied together by one belief: people change a place simply by living in it. Tracks by Daniel McLinden becomes a quiet reminder that America didn’t become what it is because of one story—it’s millions of them, overlapping like footprints in the dirt.

The Author’s Path

Daniel McLinden grew up moving across the United States as the son of two World War II veterans. His studies in Spanish and law shaped a unique perspective on language, culture, and justice—something you can feel in the way he writes. He has practiced law for more than thirty years, taught college courses, traveled through Mexico and South America, and even taught migrant workers English in his twenties.

Every bit of that life experience shows up in his storytelling. He writes with depth, patience, and an understanding of people that only comes from truly paying attention.
