When Staying Hidden Becomes a Matter of Survival
Sometimes, a family is forced to leave everything familiar behind just to stay alive. A new location may offer safety, but it does not mean the danger is gone. US 98: Destination Dade City by Paul Dean Moore follows the LeMay family as they enter witness protection because of their connection to a crime syndicate. Their lives take a different direction as they try to stay hidden while facing the uncertainty of what comes next.
The story brings together crime, murder, law enforcement, and the challenges of starting over in a small Florida town. Dogs and high school football also become part of the setting as victims, officers, and villains each play their role in the unfolding events. Everyone has something at stake, and survival becomes the goal. As the story moves toward its conclusion, readers are invited to discover what happens when a family’s attempt to find safety becomes a fight to stay alive.
Stories Inspired by Real-Life Ministry
Paul Dean Moore presents his third story set in small towns along Florida’s US 98. His characters are inspired by his forty years of ministry, during which he worked with people and families experiencing crises in different situations.
Moore took up fiction writing after his youngest daughter, Adina, challenged him to try it. He lives with his wife, Sue, near US 98 in Lakeland, Florida. He dedicates this book to his six children and his in-laws, Clifford and Vernette Oberg, as well as Jerry and Barbara Miller.
