When Survival Costs Your Humanity
The world of Revolution, 51st Century by Ross Gallen is not the future anyone asked for, but it is the one people are stuck with. After a devastating nuclear catastrophe wipes out most of the population, society does not rebuild with hope. It rebuilds with control. Genetic engineering decides who gets to live with dignity and who becomes a resource. Strength and obedience are valued more than compassion, and the state shapes people the way factories shape products. It is harsh, calculated, and disturbingly efficient.
At the center of this storm is Gaul, a warrior raised to serve the system without question. But survival is not the same as freedom, and protection is not the same as justice. As Gaul moves through a world that treats human life like inventory, he begins to chase something people once took for granted. Basic rights. Choice. A sense that life means more than function. The story pulls readers into action, moral tension, and the uncomfortable thought that progress without conscience is just another form of ruin.
The Mind Behind the Warning
Ross Gallen brings more than imagination to this story. Born in New York and raised in California, he grew up during a time when nuclear threats and global tensions felt very real. That environment shaped his strong belief in constitutional protections and civil liberties, themes that clearly echo in his writing. His career began early as an opinion writer in high school, and his academic path combined science and society with degrees in Geology and Sociology, followed by a law degree.
His legal career is extensive and serious. He is a member of the State Bar of California and Texas, has worked as a Deputy District Attorney and a deputy Public Defender, and argued a landmark case before the California Supreme Court. He has also served as a Judge Pro Tem and is recognized in the Martindale Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. Alongside practicing law, he writes fiction that questions power, authority, and the systems people trust to protect them.
