The Heart Behind Hilda

Joyce Moody writes with a child’s wonder and a grandmother’s warmth. Joyce Moody grew up in a world of pets. ­ They included dogs, cats, a duckling, baby chicks, birds, lizards, and fish. As a child, she imagined what life would be like if she were these animals. As an adult, she volunteers with the Washington Animal Response Team (WASART), which rescues domestic animals in crisis. She also helps humans in her practice as a licensed social worker and counselor. Joyce currently lives in Lakewood, Washington. This isn’t just a book—it’s a celebration of joy, kindness, and fluffy friends with big hearts.
