He studied Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management at Michigan State University from 1987 to 1989 before beginning his doctoral studies in Recreation and Leisure Studies at New York University in 1989. He completed his doctoral degree in 1996 and also spent two years studying in NYU’s MBA program.
