A Celebration of Stories and Second Chances
From its modest beginnings in 1949, when postwar publishers gathered in Frankfurt to rebuild and share new ideas, the Frankfurter Buchmesse has grown into the world’s most important international book fair. Over the decades, it has transformed from a regional gathering of German publishers into a global platform where stories are launched, partnerships are forged, and the future of publishing is shaped. That journey of steady growth, vision, and innovation is what makes the fair so influential today.
Now celebrating its 77th year, the Frankfurter Buchmesse 2025 is set to host more than 7,500 exhibitors from across the globe. It offers far more than book displays: visitors can explore groundbreaking titles, attend insightful discussions with leading authors and thinkers, witness the latest in publishing technology, and discover how books continue to evolve across media and cultures. It’s not just a fair — it’s a creative crossroads where tradition meets tomorrow.
The Imagination Peoples the Air
Frankfurter Buchmesse 2025
Adding to the excitement, the Philippines takes center stage as the Guest of Honour for 2025, presenting the theme “The Imagination Peoples the Air” — a powerful nod to the nation’s storytelling spirit inspired by José Rizal’s Noli Me Tangere. With over a hundred Filipino authors, artists, and events bringing the country’s rich literary heritage and contemporary voices to Frankfurt, this year’s fair celebrates not only books but also the vibrant diversity of global storytelling.
Amid this extraordinary celebration of ideas and imagination, Kravitz & Sons is proud to see Bubbles’ Troubles showcased on this prestigious global stage — a standout contribution that captures the spirit of this year’s fair and the conversations shaping the future of storytelling.
Meet the Heart Behind the Story
Linda Stone may be a first-time author, but she writes with the warmth and sincerity of someone who’s lived her story. Based in New Buffalo, Michigan, Linda has spent over four decades bringing beauty to her community — first through her bakery and later through her floral shop, City Flowers, which she’s owned and operated for over 25 years. Her creativity flows in everything she does, from crafting arrangements to decorating cakes, crocheting, or walking along the Lake Michigan shoreline with her beloved rescue dogs, Bubbles and Teddy.
Bubbles’ story mirrors Linda’s own spirit — hopeful, kind, and resilient. Despite being new to writing, Linda embraced it with courage and passion, proving that it’s never too late to start something new.
Finding Hope in Every Pawprint
Bubbles’ Troubles tells the heartfelt story of a small dog with a big journey — one that begins with uncertainty and loneliness, but soon unfolds into a tale of courage, trust, and love. Homeless and unsure of the world, Bubbles faces the challenge of finding her place among humans. Through patience, compassion, and her unbreakable spirit, she learns that even the hardest beginnings can lead to the happiest endings.
It’s a story that reminds readers of all ages that trust and love can heal even the deepest wounds — and that every creature deserves a second chance.
Why It Belongs on the Global Stage
In a world filled with chaos, Bubbles’ Troubles offers a quiet reminder of empathy. Its presence at the 77th Frankfurter Buchmesse 2025 highlights the universal message of compassion for animals and humans alike. Linda Stone’s debut proves that great storytelling doesn’t need to be loud — it only needs to be honest. Her message resonates across cultures: kindness, once shared, always multiplies.
