Robert L. Goodrich graduated with a B.S. in Biology from U.C. Irvine in 1975. He received a Master’s degree from UCLA in 1977, informally specializing in wildlife biology. After a brief period surveying southern California wildlife for the federal Bureau of Land Management, his career took a more contentious and legal turn, including the requisite suits and ties. He never forgot the joys of weed stomping in the wilds, however, and eventually he was able to learn the ways of the mean, cold and slimy as an avocation, apart from his vocation.
