The Dignity Of Service: The Power of Social Entrepreneurship
The Dignity of Service explores how servant leadership and social entrepreneurship can restore dignity and create meaningful change in communities. Nathan and Jeff share their journeys, insights, and practical strategies for tackling poverty through innovative solutions and community development. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, they emphasize the importance of understanding the “why” behind our efforts, offering guidance and inspiration to those seeking to make a difference. This book is a call to action for individuals and organizations to engage in transformative service, fostering resilience and hope in challenging times.
As a young boy living in Mississippi, I had a newspaper route and worked at my dad’s retail store. I learned a lot about business and people during those times. As I grew older, I became a part of several civic organizations, having a leadership role in most of them.
After graduating from college with a business degree I received my commission in the U.S. Air Force. After four years I completed my service with the rank of Captain. A few years later, I received a Master of Business Administration.
The rest of my working life has been vacillating between working for other businesses and being my own boss. Most of it has to do with sales, but my entrepreneurial ventures have been as CEO. At this point, I spend most of my time as a consultant to businesses. In order to make a difference, I founded Luke 16 Corp so that progress can be made. This is especially about helping create stronger communities by launching social entrepreneurs. Most mission-type activities miss the mark when it comes to helping make a difference in these areas. The three books I have written comprise the Dignity Trilogy and provide a guidebook to helping communities to thrive, not just survive.
