“Empower book fair with new technology and create a never-ending exchange platform for international book industry.”
– BIBF
Amid this remarkable gathering, Kravitz&Sons joined publishers, authors, and industry professionals in celebrating the enduring power of books. Our involvement at BIBF 2025 was not about spotlighting achievements, but about contributing to a shared space where ideas are exchanged, cultures meet, and meaningful conversations begin—through literature.
For us, this event was an opportunity to thoughtfully present works that reflect diverse perspectives and lived experience. Each book brought to the fair was chosen not only for its literary value but for its ability to resonate across borders. The conversations it sparked—whether about faith, identity, struggle, or hope—reminded us that stories remain one of the most powerful tools for connection in an ever-evolving world.
As BIBF 2025 concluded, it became clear that the fair is more than a showcase—it’s a movement. One that blends tradition with technology, diversity with unity, and publishing with purpose. Kravitz&Sons is honored to take part in that ongoing journey.
Dr. Laurence F. Aucella, Ed.D., Ph.D., is a lifelong servant of the Catholic faith and a dedicated educator with over four decades of experience in public school counseling and college instruction. A devout Catholic, he has spent his life immersed in the spiritual and theological traditions of the Church. From his early days as an altar server to his current role as a Sunday School teacher at Saint Anne’s Todos Los Santos Shrine in Waterbury, Connecticut, Laurence’s commitment to religious education and spiritual enrichment is unwavering. He holds advanced degrees in education, psychology, counseling, and theology—but considers his theological studies the most rewarding of all. His work is deeply rooted in both scholarship and personal devotion, making Journey Through Time a reflection of both intellect and faith.
Journey Through Time: The Catholic Church and Christian Initiation is a profound scholarly and spiritual exploration of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). More than a historical account, it is a practical guide and a tribute to the transformative power of faith. The book merges empirical research, statistical analysis, and doctrinal insight to unpack how demographic and motivational factors influence success in the RCIA process—especially within urban settings in Connecticut.
Through rigorous analysis, Dr. Aucella illustrates how RCIA isn’t just a religious procedure—it is a sacramental journey of conversion. He outlines each stage of the RCIA, from pre-catechumenate inquiry to the sacred rites of initiation, culminating in post-baptismal mystagogia. His data-backed findings reveal how variables like education, age, and personal support systems can affect whether a person completes the RCIA and continues practicing the Catholic faith.
But this book is far from dry academia. Journey Through Time is rich with historical context, theological depth, and pastoral urgency. It invites readers to revisit the origins of Christianity, walk through the lives of famous converts like Elizabeth Ann Seton, and understand the contemporary challenges in catechesis and evangelization. By weaving together the past and the present, Dr. Aucella shows that faith formation is a living process—a pilgrimage that continues through every generation.
This work deserves to be showcased at the Beijing International Book Fair for its unique ability to bridge religious tradition with academic methodology. It’s a rare resource that serves theologians, parish leaders, catechists, and curious lay readers alike. At a global event where cultures, beliefs, and scholarly works converge, Journey Through Time offers a timely and timeless contribution to the dialogue on faith, identity, and spiritual renewal.
The book resonates beyond Catholic walls. Anyone who’s ever sought deeper meaning, asked hard questions about faith, or considered personal transformation will find echoes of their own journey here. It reminds us that conversion—spiritual or otherwise—is not a sudden leap, but a process marked by inquiry, community, and grace.
